Adapters

This page is a stub. Migrate the content from docs/guides/custom-adapters.md (~628 lines — the largest single guide). TODO: copy the body, add front matter, fix links. Given its length, consider splitting into child pages: “Adapter overview”, “Built-in adapters (ActiveRecord / Mongoid)”, and “Writing a custom adapter”.

IronAdmin uses a pluggable adapter layer so resources can be backed by ActiveRecord, Mongoid, or a fully custom data source.
